Anybody know if a VTX1800 rear rotor will swap with a Valkyrie? ........And any body got a used Valk rotor laying around that I can use to grab some dimensions off of it?
Thanks

I know some have used a GL1800 rotor on the Valk, I don't know about the VTX rotor. There is a member on here that has a VTX1800 and a Valk, he might know.
What dimensions do you want to know?

I'm considering making a rotor for blingy purposes out of 410 stainless. So essentially I would draw up a print to hand to my CNC house. So I'm looking for everything dimension wise. The alternative is to buy a custom rotor for a VTX from RC components if it would fit the Valk.

I do not know, but have never heard of anyone using a vtx rotor. Some use goldwing ones. They are thinner though. They are like 1/2 wore out according to valk specs.
If you are just looking at using for specs, I have a spare here I could send you, if you return it, for shipping cost only.

I may take you up on that. I'd like to pass it to someone who could knock out a CAD model or drawing for a CNC job. When I finally get going on this, I'll post up the "bling job" here. I figure I'll go for the teardown late October. For the moment, I'm just trying to plan things out.
BTW - RC components had zero interest in helping out on this job.

There are 2 different types of rear rotors, the mounting hole are different on the rotor. You can change wheels of any year but not rotors.

The holes are the same. Any year rotor will mount on any rear wheel. However, there was a change in 99 or 00. You need the rotor to match the wheel. If you have a post 00 wheel, with a post 00 rotor,it will fit any bike. Same as pre 00 or 99 wheel and rotor. They will fit any bike. The problem comes when you put a late model rotor on a early wheel. The caliper will not fit then. As long as you match the wheel to the rotor, all is well. MP

Early rotors have a button head type bolt, while the later ones are flush with the surface of the rotor. I do not know how to tell the wheels apart, just by looking at them though.

I have the "button" head style, my ride is dated 3/99 and a 1999 model year. MP -- I still would be up for the OD an ID of your loose rotor if you got that handy. I havent see any specs in my manual.

7 1/4" and 12 3/8"
99 old style, but I believe all the same for that.
