Hello all,
Im Ben and new to this board.  Little history, I started riding about 8 yrs ago on a new shadow sabre 1100.  Great bike.  Did alot of customizing and really enjoyed every aspect of owning a growling criuser.  The problem was that I wanted something that preformed a little bit better.  Thats when I discovered the world of sport tourers. I sold the Shadow and picked up a brand new ST1300.  What a sweet bike.  Love the thing.  My only complaint with it is that it sorta seemed like it had no soul. It sounded like a sewing machine and I knew after a while it just wasnt for me.  Well, I decided to look for the 1st bike I fell in love with....THE VALK!  So, the ST got picked up last weekend to a lucky new owner and i have been looking... Im going to look at 2 more Valks this weekend and 1 of them looks freakin sweet.  Im fired up and cant wait to get back to 2-up with another cruiser!

You Valk guys and gals might be getting a new brother this weekend  Cheesy

By the way, im riding out of Boston, Ma.   If there is anyone local out there, give a shout!

Welcome to the board.  You will find a lot of knowledge available here and a good bunch of people to communicate with.   I am presently the owner of a 2000 Interstate, not a good beginner bike for a person whose only riding experience was on a 185cc trail bike but I love the Valk and have ridden it about 7,000 mi.  You will love the Valk.

Welcome! Once you bring a Valk home, you'll be hooked for sure. Hopefully we'll get to ride together at some point in the future!

Good luck finding what you want!  They sure don't make cycles like they used to like the Valkyrie.  I went into a Honda cycle dealer a few months back and sat on all the new bikes they have out now.  The only one I would consider to be comfortable is the new 1832cc goldwing, but out of my price range for now.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Honda Valkyrie. I'm onl on my second one, a 1999 Interstate. They are wonderful motorcycles and you're sure to find that other Valkyrie owners are wonderful friends to have. What model and year Valkyrie are you looking at?

All the best,

Mark

Well, it was a rough one for my quest for a nice valk...  I looked at one on fridqay night.  Little rusty.  Not my cup O tea.  I was quite excited about the one I was gonna look at saturday morn.  I woke up early, all excited, and started my trek.  Drove about 90 mins to meet the guy with the bike..... He was a total no show  angry  I sat in the parking lot where we were gonna meet for about 90 minutes before I decided It wasn't gonna happen.  uugggg...  Still havent heard from the guy.  Atleast he could have called and saved me the 1/2 talk of gas, waste of 1/2 a saturday, and time looking at other bikes.  aaarrrrrrrr....

Sorry to read you had that experience - before you do that again, get the seller's phone # and make sure the meet is still 'on' the day-of before making the trek.
