Will a interstate seat fit on a tourer that has a interstate tank or are the seat pans different?

It should fit just fine, otherwise, what you are choices for seats? The normal tourer seat would be all smushed against the tank.

Thanks nitro - I am using a tourer seat right now with my IS tank with no problems - I see different used after market seats for the IS on various forums so thought I'd check and see if for some reason the seat pans were different.

My IS seat fits into a bracket on the back of the passenger area.  My std passenger seat bolts to the rear fender.  The front is the same, but what about the back of the passenger area?

Good point, MP. There wouldn't be anywhere for you to secure the rear of the IS seat. On the IS, it is held in place with a tab that fits into a bracket near the trunk. I was just thinking of the rider portion of the seat.

I have an Ultimate set on my Is and it is exactly the same mounts as my STD. I switch it to the STD when I ride along ways by myself, there is a bit of a gap at the tank, but not bad, The Ultimate passenger seats are the same for all three models. two bolts in front and the rear fender half bolt for the back of the seat. I never had the stock seat for the I/S so I don't know how it mounted.

Thanks guys for your input  cool. Challenger that is the answer I was hoping for, I'm interested in going to the Ultimate setup on my tourer and I see from time to time this setup offered for sale for the IS a lot more than for the STD in the classifieds (at least lately) etc...
