Hey All

I bought my 2000 IS about a month ago. It has the OEM CB installed on it.

Here's the problem: I just got my headset installed in my helmet and went to try it out. I can get the radio to play through the headset, so I know that it's working properly. I cannot get the unit to switch to the CB though. Pushing function just rotates through radio and aux. I assume that this is what happens when you don't have a CB?

The previous owner said the CB works well and I vaguely remember him showing me how to switch to it, which worked fine at the time.

I installed a fuse panel and rewired a few extras under the right side cover. Is is possible to unhook something here that would cause this? Also, the previous owner moved the cable out for the rider's CB to the tank bib (versus on the dash where it normally is). While the tank was off, there was some pulling on that cable because the cable is zip tied to the tank bib. Is it possible that the cable came unattached inside the fairing?

Any other possibilities?

Same thing happened to me.  Worked fine when I got it and after putting in fuse panel and other wiring it did not work.  There is a pretty big plug in under the seat that I unplugged inadvertently.  Mine didn't stay plugged in very well.  Everytime I messed with something under the seat it would come unplugged and then it only switched from Radio to Aux.  Everytime that happened I would check and it would be unplugged again.  I would send pictures of the plug, but you know the rest of the story on that. rolleyes

That's gotta be it. Thanks Clint. Any description of the plug? Is it a black, round one? Wire harness? There's so much crap under that right side cover that it'll help to have some idea what I'm looking for.

The plug is under the seat in the battery area. It is a black wire with plugs about 3/4 inch to an inch in diameter as I recall.  Hope this helps you out.

Got it! Clint you are a GENIOUS!

Turn out that the battery cover, in order to fit down over that cable, was splitting the two ends. I got it connected, put the seat back on, and it once again didn't work. I ended up cutting back the corner of the battery cover to allow enough space for the cable to get through without being smushed under the cover and seat.
