I've had Kuryakyn grips installed for quite some time.  They're great.  The only problem is I've never been able to find a glue to hold the left grip on the slick std. Valk handlebar.  I've tried the glue that came with the grips, also the classic 'hairspray'.  After a time the grip loosens and can be slightly rotated with some pressure.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.
thanx,

Hello billyjakester,

Had the same problem with mine.  I ended up pulling the rubber pcs out and cleaning the inside of them real good with some brake cleaner (or carb cleaner).  Either way, really solvent stuff to remove any glue.  Then, I lightly roughed up the inside of the rubber pcs with some sandpaper so they weren't so slick.

On the handlebar, I also cleaned it real well with some highly solvent stuff, then (heaven forbid) roughed up the chrome end of the handlebar lightly with sandpaper also.

I think the glue I used was automotive "Amazing Goop", but I've heard of folks using silicone too.  Hopefully others will chime in with what they used for adhesive.

Seems like Kuryakyn leaves a slick film of something on the rubber, maybe a release agent sprayed on the mold when they're being fab'd.

Good Luck!

I have a different problem.  I want to remove my throttle side Kur. grip, so I can install a throttle lock.  But, don't want to ruin the grip, or screw up the throttle control.  Any thoughts anyone?

When I put my Kury grips on, I used compressed air through a needle valve, like you use to inflate a basketball.  Just take the end off, and gently work the needle in and around the grip hitting it with compressed air, and the original grip slowly slid off.  I didn't damage the grip or the throttle control.  Maybe it would work for the Kury grips also, worth a try.
Let me know if it works for ya.
