Well, I feel I must chime in on this one. I'm 52, and going on 22. Don't ask my wife how old I act, we don't want to get into that. The Valk will definately help keep you young. The bike should be good for at least 200,000mi. with normal regular maintenance. If you take better than average care of it, who knows?! If your thinking about one that has 10,000mi., it should be just about broken in.

I'll be 46 in April, my motto; You May Only Be Young Once But you Can Be Immature For Ever

46 in May of 2004, First road bike 400 Honda SS, given to me by my older sister in 1976. Have always had a road bike since that time. Lost count of how many.
98 standard, 36,000 plus.
Looks and runs like new. May ride it from central Florida to Sturgis again this year.

depends on the day--50 on the outside, 18 on the inside. That's how old I was when I got my first bike, a Suzuki 500 Titan, touted by Stubb's Suzuki every day in the Houston Post as a "Big Bike!"
I get some of that nostalgic old rush sometimes on the Valk as I remember having on the Suzuki and the Yamaha XS650 that followed. When I got back into riding a couple of years ago it was a Yamaha VStar, but it beat us up too bad.
Got a 1980 Goldwing 1100 project bike, got tired of fixing it, read enough about the Valk to know "this must be the one" and called around until I found this one. Black, 1999, Interstate, I've probably effused enough about finding it with 3300 miles for $9k--oops, there, I did it again!
The only possible replacement at this point would be the 1800 Goldwing, but I don't think I'm old enough for that yet:cool:....
As per the other post I'm taking off with another bro tomorrow (Sat) early for a SaddleSore 1000 to parts of West Texas. No snow expected, sun screen advised!

I am doing a LoneStarTrackDays track day on the Valk at the Motor Ranch near Fort Worth. If anybody else with a Valk wants to come have fun-let's do it. http://www.lonestartrackdays.com has the details. I am signing up for the one on June 7, Monday. I will be in the slowest class:eek:

I for one am glad to hearthat everyone plans to keep their valks for a long time to come. I guess with age comes experience. We no longer need to belong to the "flavor of the month" club. Happy motoring!
