looking for snow tires or all season? on the tech board under lousy oem tires are a bunch of reviews when mine go I think I will look at the Metz's or the new supposedly improved Dunlops. Perhaps the ride on the Interstate (i have a 2001) would also be better with the Progressive shocks. I ride 2 up pretty often with a total weight on the bike close to 1200lbs. What say you all?

recently put on metz 880's and have no complaints in normal weather (oregon = rain, rain, rain) however; that said, i have a new complaint. when the temp drops below 21 deg. f. the metz tires take a long time to warm up and flex and until they do they are a bit erratic; it felt like i was on ice when i knew i wasn't. after about 8 to 10 miles the problem dissapears.

I have the "new and improved" lops . This is my second set and other than being LOUD after 12k or so no complaints. Run 38/40 front and 40/42 rear. Get about 15k out of both and chg out.

The progressive shocks are pretty sweet. My lady friend really likes them. It made a big difference in the smoothness of the ride.

As I have always said, "Tires, for me there is only one choice, Metzelers, the ME 880's give you the best traction Wet and Dry of any tire that will wear more than 5,000mi." I have finally found a tire that may grip better than the Metzelers. Had it put on while I was on the road, and it what all they had. But it only ran for 5 maybe 7K. My Metzelers wear usually 15k on the rear, and about 20K on the front, on my Interstate. That's about 2 rear, and 1+a half fronts a year.

Oh, Progressives; I have had the fork springs on my last I/S, and really liked them. I now have a set of the 440 shocks on this I/S, and they are a vast improvement over the stocks, I have another set of the fork springs, but haven't got them in yet.

I bought the 13" HD 440 shocks for my I/S, and I love them. I ride by myself most of the time, 2up some of the time. I am 6'4" at about 260# and they are fine for me. You want to go with the 13" unless you want to change the saddle height. The fork springs are awesome, I really need to get mine in! They made a world of difference on my '99 I/S.
